Eric may have more information about the fuel tanks in '85 and newer, but at least on the older models, anything longer than 28 feet had dual tanks. Does the fuel gauge move when you hit the button? That would tell you if there was a second tank.
As far as the clunk, it may be the rubber lord mounts under the differential U-bolt clamp. Any oil leaks tend to eat the rubber, which will allow the diff to rock up and down. There are U-joints in the inner half shafts, and U-joints on the drive shaft. I've replaced my front drive shaft U-joint twice. One other possibility is the differential its self. As it turns out, even though the Dana 70 is rated for front application, it does not lube as well or dissipate stress as well. The carrier will flex and wear out the pressed fit on the ring gear side. Eventually it looses mesh, you loose propulsion or it chews up teeth. You should pull the diff cover and change the fluid since you just bought the coach and probably have no real history with it. That will allow you to inspect its condition, so you won't get stranded somewhere. I've rebuilt my differential twice, although the second time has more to do with the fact that I've double the HP over stock.
