If anyone needs a cheap coach for conversion or to shoot in the head for parts, this auction may be for you. Former Mobile Command Post for Belleview, NE. 1987 35 foot coach with a replaced motor in it. Auction is up in 7 days, here's the linky... Good luck! Eric |

There are several things about it that seem odd. Why would they have down sized the engine, instead of keeping the stock 454? And even more strange, why did they change the rear suspension? The OEM suspension in the rear is good, makes no sense to change it. |

Well, someone appreciated it apparently... it sold for $4,541 including the buyers premium. No telling on the engine change. I remember that one of the criteria that the reason the 454 was used is that it had to have enough "oomph" to pull a fully loaded coach out of a wet, grassy field. Maybe the shop that was maintaining it was not up to working on a carbureted 454? And the rear suspension totally befuddles me. The only thing I can think of there was that they were running a Wilburt mast on the coach for command post purposes, maybe the vertical motion on the mast (think live TV truck style mast) made them change it out. But that's only a guess. Eric |
