I've owned a 1984 Revcon King since 2009. I found it in nearby Calgary on Ebay. The previous owner had the 454 engine rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago, and he kept all receipts so I had a pretty good idea of power train condition. As was my intention, when I turned 65 several years later I became a snowbird doing winters in Quartzsite, Arizona for the next three years. The first year I made a side trip to San Diego to connect with Marty Moore and absorb what wisdom about Revcon that he might provide. He took some time out from his Ford Hotrod project then to answer my many questions. Little did I know it would be only two years til he passed on.

I tow a 3500lb '07 CRV with Blue Ox equipment, and have had no engine or power train problems doing so over three years. The second year, my left front hub bearing went out totally 70 miles short of Quartzsite after rumbling along for 50 miles. After a $700 tow, I was able to get repairs done at Best Auto in QZ. It required having Marty rebuild a hub and send it from San Diego. It cost nearly $5000. Marty said the old one failed from having the wrong bearings installed. They are specially matched to provide proper free play in the hub. I've had more than my share of appliance and minor failures from day one, but I really do like the coach, especially the rather posh interior.

It's great to have this new support forum, and to have people like Dave (whose project I used to follow) provide help, even though I understand that he has sold his Revcon now. I intend to do some more upgrades (including rear disks) with the info that is here, and hope to post some of my own mods and such. I lived in Alberta over this past winter in the Revcon, and survived the cold .... but that's another story ..... maybe for next winter!

I've been a bit slow in checking messages, apologize for the delay. Welcome to the system!

Thanks
Eric
