I have ordered 2 good used torsion bars and the parts as mentioned above from Applied GMC. It took 4 weeks (via UPS) to get them. 300 Euro (USD 324,--) import duty - for 43 year old metal parts! European customs system, no comment.

Meanwhile we tried to get the Revcon into the garage near to the assembly pit at my mechanic' s repair shop in Saxony.

First we had to remove the box on the roof.

The Revcon hangs obviously low on the driver' s side where the nut block or adjusting bolt is broken.

The assembly pit is at the entrance door of the paint booth. Tight, but we should be able to work on the torsion bars.

Now let´s see if the ordered parts from the GMC Motorhome fit for my Revcon and if they can be changed without any problems... :?

I presume that pork chop A is for the driver' s side and B for the passenger side.

But what is the correct setting?

Always A and B, e.g. A4 + B4? A5 + B5?

Are the outer positions 1 to 3 the steps to lower the height and 4 to 6 to raise it?

What is the standard setting? A3 + B3?

Don' t know yet.

Well that is kind of nice. You can just clock those pork chops to any position you want to. I never had a ride height issue, but nice to know there would be a solution. I don't know what the spec is for ride height, but I would presume at minimum, your best bet would be to make the half shafts level when the coach is fully loaded. I arbitrarily had mine set slightly above spec to help prevent the coach from bottoming out. While our coaches are similar, the specs are different between your slantmobile and my slant nose.

"Slantmobile" - because my Revcon has got an Oldsmobile engine?

I have asked Nick about the settings, let' s see what he writes back. ;)

Why are the specs different? Because of the smaller Olds engine - less front weight?

OK, I talked to Nick from Applied GMC today. I have just called him, that´s the best and fastest way to get the right information:

Always set A and B with the same number.
1 to 3 to lower the height and 4 to 6 to raise it.
It is a good idea to start with A3 and B3.

1976 GMC Motorhome Maintenance Manual Supplement concerning torsion bars (first link):

https://www.google.com/search?q=torsion ... s-wiz-serp

Refer to 3A-18 Front Suspension (Removal/Installation).

Found the PDF one day during a 5 minute break at work. The whole manual might be helpful. 139 pages.
